Code of Conduct

Awaken Austin, Hailey Ennen-Lawson (LMT, CYT), follows the American Massage

Therapy Association (AMTA) code of ethics.

1. Demonstrate commitment to provide the highest quality massage therapy/bodywork to those who seek their professional service.

2. Acknowledge the inherent worth and individuality of each person by not discriminating or behaving in any prejudicial manner with clients and/or colleagues.

3. Demonstrate professional excellence through regular self-assessment of strengths, limitations and effectiveness by continued education and training.

4. Acknowledge the confidential nature of the professional relationship with clients and respect each client’s right to privacy within the constraints of the law.

5. Project a professional image and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

6. Accept responsibility to do no harm to the physical, mental and emotional well-being of self, clients and associates.

Policies and Procedures

What Clients Can Expect:

       • Awaken Austin provides a personalized, professional, and competent session every time.

       • The practitioner always arrives early to ensure that

               o The studio is ready for the client

               o There is time before the appointment to answer and questions and review health questionnaire and special requests.

       • A confirmation text or email will always be sent the day prior to the appointment.

       • In the rare event that the practitioner must cancel an appointment, the client will receive at least 24 hours’ notice and a full refund. In the case of an emergency               where an appointment must be canceled with less that 24 hours’ notice, the client will receive a 20% discount for their next session to be applied before any other           existing discounts.

       • Calls will be returned promptly on the next day of operation (or earlier when possible).

       • Hours of operation may vary, and sessions are only available upon appointment.

       • Outcalls are available upon request.

       • Awaken Austin accepts credit/debit cards or cash. We do not accept checks or app transfers such as PayPal or Venmo.

       • All equipment and studio space are sanitary – cleaning is performed between each session to ensure the client’s safety.

What Is Expected of Clients:

       • The client agrees to pay for the entire session, even if he/she has arrived late. It is recommended that the client arrive 5-10 minutes early to guarantee that he/she               can get on the massage table by the time the appointment is due to start.

       • Sessions will begin and end on time.

       • Client will read and complete the Liability Waiver and Health Questionnaire to the honestly and to best of their ability prior to their first appointment. The client           will request a new Health Questionnaire when appropriate (I.E. health conditions have changed).

       • The client will communicate with the practitioner regarding any acute injuries, skin conditions, contagious conditions of any kind, or contraindications for                        massage or yoga.

       • The client will behave in a respectful and appropriate demeanor, with the understanding that the practitioner has a right to end the session at any time if they

         feel unsafe.

       • The client understands that he/she also has a right to end the session at any time if they feel unsafe in any way. In this case, the client will receive a full refund.

       • The client will follow reasonable sanitation practices prior to the appointment (I.E. please do not come straight from the gym).

       • If expecting a foot massage, the client will have clean feet.

       • Client will not be under the influence of non-prescription drugs or alcohol at the time of the appointment.

       • Tipping is not expected but is greatly appreciated.

Cancellation Policy:

       • Payment methods are filed at the time of booking. In the case of a cancellation

 

Full payment is required for the following conditions:

        •Failure to show up for your appointment

        •Cancellation of appointment with less than 6 hours' notice.

Partial payment will be collected under the following conditions:

        •50% of the session price will be charged if cancelled with less than 12 hours' notice.

        •$20 late cancellation fee will be charged if cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice.

A full refund will be issued under the following conditions:

        •24 hours' notice is given by the client for cancellation.

        •Appointment is cancelled by the massage therapist/yoga instructor.
